About Evylin
Evylin is a Registered Psychologist and the founder of Beautiful Mind Psychology.
She specializes in but is not limited to working with women going through difficult life transitions, experiences, or mental health concerns related to/involving pregnancy, birth, motherhood, body image and body size challenges, grief and loss, trauma, and relationship changes, including separation, divorce, and intimate partner abuse and violence. She also provides treatment for those struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, disordered eating, and a multitude of other mental health concerns.
Evylin has over 17 years of experience volunteering and working in the mental health field which includes experience as a Crisis Line Support volunteer, a psych aide at a psychiatric hospital, and a youth support worker for at-risk youth and girls ensnared in sex trafficking and addiction. She has been practicing as a psychologist for more than 13 years. During this time, she has worked for a community-based non-profit agency and the provincial public health authority in a rural community mental health clinic, the Edmonton Adult Bariatric Specialty Clinic, and at an inpatient psychiatric hospital.
Evylin has a Master of Education degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Alberta, is a Level 1 Trained Brainspotting Therapy Practitioner, and has certification in treating birth and reproductive trauma. Her approach to working with others is client-centered and feminist at its core. She draws from many psychological approaches and theories including Client-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, somatic approaches, attachment theory, and believes in the client’s innate wisdom.
Evylin is a mother of 4 children who enjoys a good card game or board game, being challenged by mother nature through her gardening efforts, cooking and baking what her kids may or may not ultimately eat, and drinking a great (and if lucky) warm cup of coffee.
